Writer 
 
The Writer supports the business by writing and editing copy for a wide range of deliverables.  
 
The ideal candidate will have a passion for writing and a strong portfolio of work in a variety of formats including: 
·         Email  
·         University guides and catalogs 
·         Brochures 
·         Print 
·         Display and paid media ads 
·         Social media  
·         Direct mail 
·         Events 
·         Presentations 
·         Invitations 
·         Posters 
·         Newsletters 
·         Promotional items 
 
They will have a lifelong-learner attitude – open to coaching, with a desire to continuously develop their skill set. 
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
 
·         Write fresh, innovative, original copy – in a variety of formats – that delivers results. 
·         Review copy for optimizations. 
·         Develop concepts and execute against established concepts. 
·         Adhere to brand voice and tone and ensure consistency across multiple communications and channels. 
·         Understand and execute creative strategies and communications objectives. 
·         Collaborate with designers and other creatives to develop the work. 
·         Work well with a variety of business partners, at all levels, across the organization. 
·         Remain calm, focused and detail-oriented in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, efficiently juggling many projects simultaneously. 
 
Job Skills 
 
·          Writing “from scratch”– creating a wholly original piece of work (rather than editing). 
·          Strong verbal communication. 
·          A keen eye for grammar and proofreading. 
·          Ability to research (when needed). 
·          Ability to deliver creative rationale, and confidently present and defend work. 
·          Quick study – ability to absorb information and feedback quickly and apply to new projects. 
·          Good understanding of the fundamentals of marketing. 
·          Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. 
·          Familiarity with AP Style. 
·          Familiarity with working on a geographically distributed/hybrid team.  
 
Work Experience 
 
3-6 years of marketing writing experience in various roles and industries. 
 
 
Education 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in English, communications, journalism or related field.
